Terms of Use

1. Accepting these terms

By creating an account or using Baheth, you agree to these Terms of Use and to our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

2. The service

Baheth is a platform that connects researchers. It lets users publish research projects, request or offer research services, and lend, sell, give away or swap lab equipment and tools, and talk to each other directly.

Baheth does not provide these services itself and is not a party to any agreement, sale, loan or exchange between users. Each user is responsible for what they agree with others.

3. Your account

• You must be 18 or over and provide accurate information about yourself, your institution and your qualifications.
• You are responsible for keeping your password confidential and for everything done from your account.
• One account per person. You may not impersonate another person or institution.

4. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Publish false, misleading, offensive or unlawful content, or content that infringes others' rights.
• Share confidential research data, patient data or other people's personal data in posts, attachments or messages.
• Use the platform for spam, advertising unrelated to research, or collecting other users' data.
• Offer services that breach academic integrity, such as writing theses or research on someone's behalf to be submitted as their own work.
• Try to access accounts or data that are not yours, or interfere with the platform's operation.

5. Materials and equipment

• At this stage, the materials marketplace is for lab equipment, tools, glassware, consumables and spare parts only. Chemical and biological materials may not be posted.
• You may only post items you are authorised to lend, sell or give away under your institution's rules.
• The poster is responsible for describing the item's condition accurately, including whether it needs calibration. The parties agree between themselves on delivery, transport, return and safety.

6. Review of posts

Projects and posts are reviewed by the Baheth team before they appear publicly. We may decline, unpublish or remove any content that breaches these terms, and suspend accounts that repeatedly breach them. Review does not mean that Baheth guarantees the content or the people behind it.

7. Your content

You keep ownership of the content you publish. By publishing it, you allow Baheth to display it on the platform for the purpose of providing the service. You are responsible for having the right to publish it.

8. Fees

Baheth is completely free during the beta. A small commission may apply in the future to sales and paid services completed through the platform; we will notify users well in advance before introducing any fees. Any payments between users during the beta are agreed directly between them.

9. Limitation of liability

The platform is provided "as is". Baheth is not responsible for the accuracy of what users publish, for the quality of services or items exchanged between them, or for any loss resulting from dealings between users. We do our best to keep the platform available, but we do not guarantee that it will be uninterrupted or error-free.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using Baheth and ask us to delete your account at any time by emailing info@baheth.co. We may suspend or close accounts that breach these terms.

11. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. We may update them; if we make significant changes, we will notify you before they take effect, and continuing to use the platform means you accept them.
